Project 1: PERSONAL INVESTIGATION

This project is one project with one final outcome and a range of mounted studies on the way. You need to produce a range of enhanced images and then relate that to a range of themes that you will progress into one final outcome.

Week 2: Enhanced images: Digital Computer experiments: Using your digital images you will create a range of digital experiments in photoshop

Week 3: Enhanced images: Handmade experiments: Using your digital images you will create a range of handmade collaged and painted experiments.

Week 4 and 5: Enhanced images: Darkroom Experiments: Using your film images you will create a range of darkroom experiments by using a creative masking vignette, acetate and ink hand made negatives, dodging and burning experiments, solarisation and bleaching prints.

Complete analysis of film artists for marking Tuesday week 6.

Week 6 mount and review: Mount best prints then move onto reviewing and refining ideas: You will have a chance to review your experiments and discuss what techniques to use again. Start by using the sheet attached to plan your next shoot. You must discuss at length three ideas, create the ideas sheets in lesson after you have mounted.

Half Term:
1 Shoot 2 rolls of 35mm (back up with digital shots just in case) or Shoot 50 digital images based on your ideas sheets.
2 Complete a double page analysis page on three artists (you have two weeks to do this). Use the learning pack to write a condensed analysis on each, discussing the layout and aesthetics in their work (remember formal elements and rules of photo), what parts of their work are influencing you and conclude each artist on how you intend to interpret their work? 

Week 7/8: You will make contact sheets and then choose best prints. Then you will explore fully your chosen themes in a series of gradually more and more refined experiments, based on what is appropriate to your idea.  Consider the following art disciplines to mix with your photographic ideas: Collage, Combines, Drawing, Painting, Textiles, Animation, Film

If you are interested in animation consider animated Gifs and Cinemagraphs. Good examples of these are:

Week 10: Research final presentation ideas, looking at Coulsdon College's Visual Arts Pinterest boards.

Week 11: Plan final presentation ideas using drawing to plan in sketchbooks and then shoot 2 rolls of 35mm (back up with digital shots just in case) or shoot over 50 digital images based on your ideas.

Week 12: Experiment with final processes, materials and media.  These experiments must be your final tests on your final outcomes.

1 Review your progress, discussing potentials and limitations and compare and contrast to your chosen presentation methods
2 Write a final analysis, of the artist or method that is inspiring your presentation method.

Week 13: MOCK EXAM: start the mock exam by completing contact sheets, final method experiments and planning presentation methods.

Winter Homework:

1 Review your progress, discussing potentials and limitations and compare and contrast to your chosen presentation methods
2 Essay draft 2. This will be an intro, 3 artists analysis and links between the artists.
3 Mark your sketchbook, using Eduqas marking scheme to help you.
